I would say this is a much better card scanner than a photo scanner. Since this is portable and the scanned photo / card / paper moves across the scanner parts, the possibility of scratches are higher, than on a flat bed scanner, where the photo / document to be scanned is kept stationary while the scanner moves. Therefore, photos tend to get scratched easily, and that gets scanned as well. Business cards, smaller documents such as small bills are different - and scanning them is easy, and reasonable with resolution. Strong buy for those with offices where smaller bills need scanning as with cards. The accompanying card OCR software is quite good.
