V Guard Crystal Plus Stabilizer
By Sanjay Kumar Mahatoon
It is recommended for a screen size above 32. Its an good product with good build quality and comes with three years warranty. You can plug your TV, DTH, and playstation/Home theater to this stabilizer. Overall a must for all those expensive TV sets which are sold in the market.
1st disappointment from FLIPKART
By Kunal Kishoreon
Hi, I am using Flipkart for last few years. I started from low value item through medium value item purchase.
Recently I purchased the V-Guard Crystal Plus Voltage Stabilize from Flipkart. Unfortunately, the delivered item was not in shape, in fact its outer cover (Plastic material) was open and screws used for its fixture with main body was missing.
I fixed it on my own taking help from local technician as I do not have time to ask Flipkart for the necessary actions (refund/repair).
So, I would like to suggest the Flipkart that it takes years for making a goodwill and a very small step in ruing it.
kindly put more vigilance in pre-dispatch stage of the items.
Transformer Tap Changing AC Voltage Stabilizer
By Prince Stephen Ranjion
Output Voltage 200 - 240 V from input 167 V - 290 V
This means output voltage will be fluctuating in the range 200V - 240V according to input voltage. If input 167V then output 200V and if input 290V output 240V. But this is not accurate as these stabilizers use tap transformers which simply adds or subtracts some fixed voltage usually 20V, 40V etc. If input 200V 20V added and output 220V , If 240 input 20V reduced and output 220V. The main drawback is voltage threshold for switching may be set on some fixed voltage say 211V so if input 210V 20V added and output 230V if input 212 no switching. So if input voltage is slowly fluctuating in the input range 209 - 214V then output it provides is 229V - 214V that too instantly not gradual which actually harms the electronics device rather than helping.
This model is rated 3 Amps so some 600 VA (~220V x 3A) max load can be connected without straining the transformer.
These kind of stabilizers is not needed for any electronic device and instead connecting some surge protector is far better.
One I would recommend is this, Belkin 8 Socket Surge Protector
It have surge suppression from cable, phone, network lines too.
Not what it used to be
I remember the first time I saw the ad of V-Guard. It was of a stabilizer with 7 years warranty. At a time when all others were giving 1 or 2 years warranty. It was in the 1980's. Within a short period, at least in Kerala, the word stabilizer meant V-Guard. Whenever I wanted to buy a stabilizer, V-Guard had been the automatic choice. So without a second thought, I ordered this product for my new HT setup.
When the product came, I was in for a surprise, not a pleasant one. The plastic cover was broken at the bottom side. And it wasn't even powering on. I asked for replacement and it was promptly delivered. Again the second one also had the plastic cover broken at the bottom. But this time it was working. I couldn't risk working my equipment without a stabilizer further and so I accepted it. I hope it is working as it is supposed to be.
I have a feeling that the quality of V-Guard is going downhill. It is definitely not what it used to be. For my next purchase, I will think twice before putting my money on a V-Guard.
After warranty stopped working
Ok but worked only 3years ...
Superb product completely satisfactorily
It is an excellent product
