The headphone is one the best with its thumping bass and good clarity. I am very disgusted at amazon as I paid for the AP model and got a normal one which has no microphone. It was a gift so I opened it late as a result the return window also closed. Amazon should be ashamed of delivering wrong products.

Hi friends, This is my in-depth review of the product after a lot of experiments and experience. CHECK FOR ORIGINAL PRODUCT: Before I describe my experience, let me tell you I was worried whether I'd be getting the original product or a duplicate. I did some research on the Internet to know how to distinguish between an original MDR-XB450 and a fake one. So that in case I receive one, I could get it replaced. 1) There should be a yellow warranty sticker on the packet, that says "1 YEAR WARRANTY" 2) At the back of the packet, the barcode number should end with 'IN' or 'E', but NOT with 'CN' or 'CH'. Note: The product is "Made in Thailand". 3) The Sony headphone's picture on the front of the packet should be a little dull, not very vibrant or bluish (as on the fake product box). 4) The 'L' for left and 'R' for right signs may be missing on the fake headphone 5) The wire quality would feel really cheap compared to the original product. You can tell by just looking at it. I bought the product on Big Shopping Days for a good price. Now, coming to the product itself: DESIGN (4/5): One thing I can tell about the design is that, its enough to make others turn their heads towards you. The spiral/ring designs on the headphones shine a lot. I bought the black one because it felt classic, yet stylish at the same time. It looks even better in real than the pictures available on the Internet. Yes, I admit. I fell for this beauty. The disks may look a little big, though. Or maybe it's just me. Honestly, I'd have prefered it a little smaller. COMFORT (5/5): Unlike most of the headphones in the same range, it doesn't make your head sweat or ache. You can wear it, and forget it. Listen to music for 2-3 hours easily. Just like a winter hat. It is two-way foldable and therefore also portable to carry around in bags. The padding is really good and soft compared to Sony MDR-ZX310 or Sennheiser HD 180. It is same as JBL T250SI. AUDIO QUALITY (5/5): It is made for bass freaks, period. When you buy a headphone that says "Extra Bass", it means you'll be getting extra bass. You can't complain about that. If you want a more balanced audio with treble, mids, beats, highs, and vocals, go for MDR-ZX310 or JBL T250SI instead. They are even sold cheaper than this one. I never had any complaint with its audio quality though. It is crystal clear and exactly what a bass-freak desires for. Hint: Install an app called "Audio Beats" and set Beats Equalizer to Custom as 1 in Virtualizer, 3 in 3D, and 5 in Bassboost. Thank me later ;) DURABILITY (x/5) I can't really talk about that since it's only been a few months. However, I have a friend having the same exact headphone. He's been using it for over 1.5 years now and according to him, everything is same as new, except that the earpads have worn out. HOW ABOUT GAMING? If online gaming is your priority, I'd recommend you NOT to buy this. Lack of microphone might be a deal breaker for you. Instead, you may look at Sony MDR-ZX310APBCE. Hi readers, After a lot of testing, I can proudly say that these are THE BEST you can get at this price. PROs/CONs + Great Sound output. XB = eXtra Bass, and yes, they actually meant it. + Super comfortable, even after like 5-6 hours of continuous use. + Portability / Flexibility / Adjustability - Just awesome - Couldn't find any con yet. You may be able to find the same sound quality near about this price point. But I hardly doubt the comfort you can get. Some headphones just GRAB your head. When I put these ON, I feel cozy, and hardly feel them clamping my head. At this budget, I can't really recommend anything other than these. I've tried Skullcandy 2XL Shakedown, but lacks comfort and quality, compared to XB450. That's all for now. Will update this review if I find anything useful to add to it. Thanks for reading.
