I am a kind of consumer who prefers quality over quantity. So you can consider my review totally unbiased.First of all, I have been using external hard disks of different brands since 2006, so I know what I am talking about. Hard disks are generally manufactured keeping in mind that they got to be portable and amount of data a consumer might need. When things get simpler, hardships also follow. External hard disks are exposed to various forces of nature and are easily corrupted even with the slightest mishandling. Trust me, I am a victim. Therefore, I was looking for a rugged equipment that would preserve my data even in the harshest conditions. This tendency of mine is now predominant in almost every sector of my life which is evident from the first line I typed. Let us now talk about the hard disk.I heard about this brand a long time ago but never bothered to think about it as much economical options were available at market. However, when I found this hard disk in AMAZON I thought "Why don't I trust my instinct and give it a go?". I did and VOILA !Trust me this is a rugged external hard disk, which at first doesn't seem like much but in fact it is. To make things simpler for you all I will point out the Pros and Cons (which I find is the current trend now and is simplistic in nature).PROS:1. Rugged design. The entire external housing(that have a camouflage print) actually covers the core that have the memory disk which helps in protecting the hard disk from direct impact.2. The curved design of the data cable actually straps around the hard disk perfectly and helps you to save space and time(not space time continuum, of course JK!). It has been observed my several consumers that the cable gets hampered due to mishandling and unwanted torsion and bending eventually breaking it or tearing it up. However, this problem is solved when this ADATA hard disk is concerned.3. It is a USB 3.0 device, so you don't have to worry about transfer speeds at all.4. The flaps that cover the port is well designed to restrict most of dust when idle and accidental drops in water will not destroy your data fortress.CONS:1. A little overpriced but not on the costly side. Compare this with buying a kevlar suit over a steel plate if you are a soldier.2. The exterior housing gives a plastic feeling but that's kind of good if aesthetics is not your prime concern.3. It's a bit on the thicker side but given the protection it provides, is not a problem for me.Verdict: Overall a wonderful product if you think your data is important and need to be preserved for a longer time. This rugged external hard disk is a must buy product if you have a rough and tough lifestyle and love to watch those movies and series while dozing off :) Go for it guys and girls.
