My first android phone
By Satish Pradhanon
I bought it 3 year ago and it has been with me through thick and thin. Lets see the pro's and con's.ProVery rough and tough.Great body and premium feel.Has all the basic requirements for a decent smart phone.Has a great developer community for custom roms online.Camera has a flash.ConsThe phone is too old and outdated by its many successors.Low ram and basic samsung apps eat up a big chunk.Has updates till gingerbread only.Very low internal memory.Rooting is tough.Below 1 GHz processor.Still all in all its a decent phone. Its kind of a classic.
Galaxy Ace: Loving it!
What I like
-- Crisp 3.5in screen
-- Very sharp touch response
-- Good preloaded widgets like News and weather, Clocks, Finance, Power control etc.
-- Task Manager, helps to clear up background apps and RAM.
-- Overall built quality, seems worth a lot more!! ;)
-- Its pretty slim!
-- Pack contains 2 back panels - black and white
-- Price, sheer VFM :)
What I don't like
-- 278 MB RAM, probably the weakest link of the chain here
-- Low internal memory, 180MB
-- Camera: No zoom if you are shooting at full res(5 MP)
-- No flash support
-- Flimsy bundled earphones
-- No notification LEDs to inform you of missed calls/messages.
-- No Front facing camera
All in all, I would say a very balanced handset at a very decent price. If you have been waiting for that elusive Android device that ticks most of the boxes and still doesn't burn a hole in your pocket, I would say, this 'could' be it!
Good but not enough
By Bharath Chandranon
i got this phone within 2 days of order, hence hats off to flipkart. even though the phone is smooth while scrolling and has free office app, it has the following drawbacks:
1. it just has a RAM of 278 MB which is quite less and hence even when 3 apps are simultaneously opened the phone slows down.
2. i had read reviews about galaxy ace not able to handle heavy taxing games like raging thunder but was shocked to find out it could not even handle angry birds!!! at some of its levels the game simply gets stuck for seconds and there was noticeable slowing of the game..... But other games that i had tried worked fine(Ufff!!!)
3. The battery drains pretty fast even if the GPS, Wi-Fi is never on. it ca last for a day if the mobile is used for ordinary purposes like making calls, msging, music and surfing for 30 mins... but even 15 mins of game can eat into the battery.
all in all pretty ok phone if you are not a gamer, as the rest of the phone features are pretty marvelous and apt for a 14k phone.....
D galaxy I aced
The Australian open on 29/1/12 had a handful of aces exchanged. But my ace (pun intended) happened on 28/1/12(Saturday). Having ordered on a Saturday, i was pleasantly surprised to see a courier guy with a Flipkart logo knocking my door on Tuesday, ie, 31/1/12. The package was hassle free.
My thoughts on the phoneâ?¦.
The phone looks classy, costly and stylish. It comes with an additional 'white-colored' back panel which gives it a look not-all-too different from the iphone. What more! it has the same form factor of iphone 4.
The touch screen is as good as you get for Rs.13,000. This, I feel, is mainly because of the 800MHz processer within. The clicks feel good, the screen looks pleasing and, ultimately, the navigation becomes a joy.
The screen is a TFT one. Although it is sufficiently good enough for day-to-day usage, a bright sunlit environment would require screen brightness levels to be at their maximum for clear viewing. But this is the case with any non-AMOLED/non-SuperAMOLED/non SUPERLCD phones.
The battery is not as bad as you think. YES, it is only 1350mAh, YES, with 3.5inch screen it should have been 1500mAH. But, but, au contraire, the battery is good ENOUGH! And, this smaller battery also provides an incredible feeling of "light-weightiness", hitherto found in 3.5inch-less-than-15000 phone. And, if you are an user like me ,i.e., a few calls during the day, a few hours of messaging, an hour or so of gaming/music, an hour or two of browsing, the phone should last a day or (sometimes) two. And, do follow the common practices of battery-saving. In my opinion, battery is definitely a thing to ponder over, but having made up your mind, nothing, and nothing at all, to regret!!
The other debate is about the internal storage. Ace has an internal storage capacity of 158mb. This could be a critical issue. BUT, SURPRISE! It is not. With 158mb, one could have several, almost around, 50 applications installed. This is more than what an average user would actually require. If, by any chance, you require more than 50 apps, there are several ways to move your apps to microSD card. These procedures require some android literacy, but, they are not really that difficult. Try googling "How to move apps from internal memory to microSD card in android". Ideally, one should try doing this only after his internal memory is completely stuffed with apps.
Dear Readers, please take it as granted that every other unmentioned feature about the phone is unmentioned precisely because it fits the bill of an ideal 13-15000 smart phone and there is nothing literally to praise or criticize upon.
Good Luck in your hunting spree!
Wait, don't buy now!
By Tom Josephon
Unless ur dying to get this phone in your hand, i would advise u not 2 buy this phone now and instead, wait for a month. The Ace Plus has just releasd n Ace 2 will release in a few days. So in a months time, there will be a significant drop in the price of Galaxy Ace. It can't continue with this price as the features are pretty outdated (low internal memory, low RAM, etc.) and the market is flooding nowadays with better phones at almost same price.

Please do not buy this phone, its crap ,internal memory 180 mb only ,even if u use titanium backup n move every application to sd card or rom still library files will be stored in internal memory so it will make it full after installing so many softwares.ram is also very low as 120 mb will be used by system itself whihc wont allow u to play high dynamic games.if u put alot of widgets they will consume a lot of ram ,android requires atleast 512 mb minimm ram not below.battery is totally poor ,stand by also sucks ,even if u dnt touch this phone or the screen is off totally no sms no call the battery will be finished within 48 hours .talking time is 3 hours.please dont waste ur money on this crap.wait for galaxy ace plus wich is coming or buy s2 or galax note.rest ur wish .i have udes this phone tried custom frimwares also but this phone is only 800 megahertz whihc makes it performacne pooor.in short a dabba fone total crappy.rest ur wish buy ot not
Value for money
By Rahul Bon
I bought this phone last month from flipkart. The website shows the discription as Galaxy Ace S5830; however, they ship out Ace S5830i, an upgraded version with 832 MHz processor. Other specs are same as the older Ace.
The phone has a very nice n tidy UI and runs most of the supported android apps without a hassle. Please dont expect this phone to play HD videos for you; however, it will definitely play videos of decent quality. This phone easily plays most dvd rips n the video doesnt lag or pixelate.
The only problem that I have come across with this phone is the WiFi. It keeps on disconnecting every two - three mins. It re-connects on its own; however, if you are downloading something it will fail. Flipkart sent me a replacement cell phone because of this issue; however, I am facing the same problem with the new one. Now, after reading on a few websites, I know that many people are facing issues with WiFi on Galaxy Ace.
To sum it up, this cell phone is value for money and you should consider to buy it if you don't use WiFi.
I also want to thank Flipkart's customer service team for the exceptional service. I must say that these people are very helpful do their best to resolve any issues. I have bought several products from Flipkart and the customer makes me coming back to shop more.
Awesome!! Best Buy
Bought this a month before and really satisfied with this. I will not use many applications like students / freshers... Great experience with Flipkart Delivery...
1. Looking good.
2. Super touch control
3. Speed is good. I can play any youtube videos continously. (you should hav 3G network and good signal strength)
4. Camera is good but not to the level of 5MP
5. Very nice phone for this budget.
1. Gingerbird OS version will not support Flash Player
2. Bit complicate to use the dialed list & keys as there is single menu for both. You have to select call button and then choose dialed numbers or keypad.
3. Battery is worst. I have to charge twice for a day.

Samsung Galaxy Ace is Good for Beginners
By Manish Bhaion
it is a cool phone and value for money. An android mobile phone with good processor, touch screen is sensitive and very responsive. This was my first android phone and its great for beginner use.The size of the phone is slightly big but then its sleek and easily slides in your pocket. The internal memory is less.Picture quality is also good.It is a good Android phone for beginners at a very decemt price.
NOT AT ALL GOOD
+ 3.5 inch touchscreen fits perfectly in hand
+ Android GB (v2.3) is enough for general usage
+ Modest hardware at modest price tag
- Low RAM and low internal memory
- No flash support and no front facing camera
Beginner's Androiod phone
By Tambi Jon
I just purchased this phone and its too cool. An android mobile phone with 800 Mhz processor that runs so fast.Touch screen is sensitive and very responsive. For me its the very first android phone and its great for beginner use.The size of the phone is slightly big but then its sleek and easily slides in your pocket. The internal memory is limited-158 MB, and Samsung should have provided more space for memory. It is expandable to 32GB though.Picture quality is also good with 5 MP Camera. It is a decent Android phone at a very decemt price. No complaints.

Phone is in good working condition. But battery was discharging very rapid and requires 2-3 times charging, per day, due to OE battery.I want to increase the 1350mah to 1800mah for more talk time.
